BNP Paribas ZigZag: Redefining the Office Space

An Innovative and Playful Office Design by DA Architects

The inspiration behind BNP Paribas ZigZag is the concept of play. DA Architects wanted to create a signature element that would allow for the redefinition of space, function, and sense in something as trivial as a contact center office. This signature element is used to create an overall aesthetic for the entire space, resulting in a playful and enjoyable environment.

One of the main strengths of this design is its ability to integrate different areas for relaxation, collaboration, and focused work processes. The challenge was to create fluid and colorful spaces and micro-spaces that correspond and interact with each other. The result is a dynamic office layout that promotes creativity and productivity.

The workstation units in BNP Paribas ZigZag are a unique design by DA Architects, specifically created for this project. These units do not have an analogue in office equipment and are composed of steel legs, laminated worktops, and upholstered acoustic dividers. The flooring consists of carpet tiles, with some areas where the carpet extends onto the walls. For the recreation and collaboration areas, a combination of white and oak elements is used.

With a total area of 1360 sq.m., BNP Paribas ZigZag provides a refreshing and enjoyable work environment. It is a place where employees can work better because they feel better. The design promotes fun and creative interactions, allowing for a more productive and fulfilling work experience.

The BNP Paribas ZigZag project started in March 2018 and was completed in November 2018. Throughout the design process, extensive spatial analysis was conducted to find the perfect balance between playfulness and functionality in an office environment.

DA Architects faced several creative and technical challenges during the project, one of which was creating a module workstation from scratch. However, these challenges were overcome, resulting in a design that truly redefines the traditional office space.

BNP Paribas ZigZag has been recognized for its innovation and excellence in design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
